THURSDAY

On Thusrday, we went to Cadiz, the capital city of the province. We went to Cadiz by a "catamaran". The catamaran is a little ship that many people use it to go to some towns near cadiz. We visited a lot of  interesting monuments and places.

One of this interesting places was the Gadir deposit. Gadir is the name of Cadiz in the phoenician times and in this deposit you can see how the phoenicians lived. The best thing is that this museum is free.

Then we went to the "Museo de las Cortes de Cadiz". This museum has a lot of objects relationated with the Napoleonic Empire and the Spanish Constitution of 1812 but the main piece of this museum is a model of the city of cadiz made by mahongany and ivory.

If you do not go to Cadiz's beaches it is like you have not visited this city. For many people the best beach of the province is "la Caleta". Watching a sunset in la Caleta can be one of the most beautiful things that you can see in Cadiz.

Right next to the beach, it is located a fortification called "Santa Catalina's Castle". This castle was a defensive fortress built in  1596 but nowadays is a touristic place you can visit whenever and see how were the castles of that time like.

WEDNESDAY

On Wednesday we went to Jerez's centre.

First, we visited the Cathedral. We saw all of his parts and the guide explained us all the history.

Later we went to the Alcazar, and the guide explained all the things as he did in the Cathedral.

Finally, we visited the "Centro Andaluz de Flamenco". It was very interesting, with a video that showed us where the flamenco come from and all the details that this art has.

We went to our houses to eat, and then we visited the Cellar of Jerez. That was very cool.

This day was an amazing day.

Then, when we finished the visit, we had some free time there and
we went to Bolonia's Beach, and we saw the huge sand dunes. Before coming back to the bus, we took some photos together and later, we went to Tarifa.

When we arrived to Tarifa, we had free time and we went to see the Tarifa's Harbour. There, we were too tired because we had woken up too early and we had walked a lot, but fortunately we rested in our free time.

Later, when we finished our free time, we came back to Jerez and we arrived too tired at 19:30, but as we wanted to make the most of the day, we prepared quickly and some of us went to have dinner to the Pita Atlantico.

Finally, we went back home and we were tired but happy because we had a perfect day together!

Friday

That day we went to Seville.

First, we visited the General Archive of the Indies that is the repository of extremely valuable archival documents illustrating the history of the Spanish Empire in the Americas and the Philippines. Our guide explained us that the employees who work there study these documents in order to understand their society and to recollect information about them.

Then, we visited Seville Cathedral which is the largest Gothic cathedral and the third-largest church in the world. The guide told us about its history and its main characteristics. Later, some of us went to the Giralda, which is a tower of 104’1m height.

Finally, we went to The Alcazar of Seville, which is a royal palace originally developed by Moorish Muslim Kings. It is considered as one of the most beautiful palaces in Spain and one of the most outstanding examples of mudejar architecture found on the Iberian Peninsula.

When we arrived, most people hung out for dinner. It was such a fantastic day!

Saturday

On Saturday, we were a little bit sad because it was the last day in Spain together. Some people spend the day with their family and others spend it with their friends, some people went to the beach or to other touristic places. Then, we helped our penpals to make their luggage for Milan. In the evening we met. We said goodbye to everyone, it was so sad but we would meet on March. At midnight, they left Jerez.
This exchange was an opportunity of making new friends, knowing each other's culture, speaking in English and travelling. We are so lucky of that!

Monday

On Monday, we went to school as a normal day. We were very excited and nervous because of the arrival of our italian partners. We were taking french lessons when they arrived. We run to the room where we were going to receive them and when they entered there, we clapped and hugged them. There were some spanish tortillas, chips, pies and fizzy drinks to receive them. Then, we went home and I introduced Denise (my italian partner) to my family. Next, I showed her my house and we had lunch. To continue with, she unpicked her luggage and we rested about an hour. Then, we went to “Área Sur”, a big shopping centre in Jerez. There, we went for a walk and finally we met all together. From my point of view, it was not the most funny day but we have to understand that it was the first day we met.
